Veganism as a lifestyle is to dispense with the consumption of products of animal origin, whether for food or for other uses such as clothing or cosmetics.
There are people who choose a vegan diet just because they take care of their health.
If you have decided to live under this philosophy of respect for animals and care of your body and you are unlucky enough to be coeliac, your range of available food is greatly reduced.
Being vegan is a choice, a way of life based on respect for animals, being coeliac is not.
This, in principle, adverse scenario requires reinventing itself in the kitchen. The recipes we propose to experience contain ingredients and textures that allow you to enjoy each meal.
Eating should be a great pleasure whether you’re vegan, coeliac, or both. These nutritious and delicious recipes meet these premises and will also delight the most demanding palates.
Remember… vegan, gluten-free, twice as good!
The best recipes – vegan and gluten free
Is it difficult to make a gluten-free vegan menu?
Except for the obvious limitation of ingredients, making such a menu is almost as easy as making a normal one.
For example, while it is true that the texture that gluten confers on the bread is more difficult to obtain, if you can make gluten-free vegan chorizo with a fairly authentic flavour it can be achieved.
We are pleased that more and more large supermarkets have more foods and ingredients including the gluten-free logo.
We observe, with great joy, how shops and restaurants using the label “vegan” and “gluten-free” on their products increase.
Gluten-free vegan appetisers and entrees
What better way to start a meal than with a good raw vegan salad, vegan cheese or a hummus with crudités (finely cut vegetable pieces).
We are working on it, we will soon put at your disposal a few recipes to make you lick your fingers.
Gluten-free vegan desserts, the big unknowns!
Something that we always miss in the restaurant menu are these type of desserts. Traditional pastries rarely find desserts that don’t include cow’s milk or wheat flour in the recipe. Get ready to pay homage at home with our brownie recipes or delicious vegan, sugar-free cocoa custard. They are easy to prepare and are great!
Difference between vegetarians and vegans
Many people use the words “vegetarian” and “vegan” interchangeably. If you are one of them we offer you a little clarification.
What defines a vegetarian person?
Vegetarians refuse meat and fish consumption, but consume to a greater or lesser extent products derived from them such as dairy, honey or eggs.
And what defines a vegan?
Vegans completely refuse the consumption of both animals and any product from them, whether in food, clothing (shoes or fur coats) or cosmetics (some of them test their products with animals). Our fundamental goal in choosing this lifestyle is a future free of any animal exploitation.
Why choose to go vegan?
In addition to the above, the consequences of the vegan movement on the planet are very positive. It helps to reduce pollutant emissions into the atmosphere by livestock and thus helps to counter climate change. An increased consumption of plant-based foods usually has a very positive effect on health. Vegetables are full of nutrients that help us to stay healthy and have a greater vitality.
That’s why many people who take care of their diet have a better appearance, clearer face and brighter hair. After all, our physique reflects our interior.
It is scientifically proven that the reduction in animal foods reduces the chances of serious diseases such as certain types of cancer.
In addition to the reduction of animal products, there are more things you can do for the sake of the planet. Take a look, many are at your fingertips.
What if the food I have at home isn’t organic?
At www.veganosingluten.com we are committed to increasing the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables, if possible, of organic cultivation. Our body deserves to be pampered.
However, it is not always easy to find an organic store near home or it is simply more comfortable for us to go to our supermarket or grocery shop as usual.
In this case, we suggest washing the fruit or vegetables to make sure that you remove any traces of pesticides or other contaminants that it may contain:
- Wash the food under the tap while rubbing them with plenty of water
- Immerse them for 15 minutes in a water solution with bicarbonate or vinegar
- Rinse them with water and now they are ready to eat.
What is gluten?
Gluten is a protein found in some cereals, such as wheat, barley, rye or spelt. It is responsible for the fluffiness of breads or biscuits.
Many people are not able to digest this protein and it triggers an adverse reaction: so-called coeliac disease. Currently, a gluten-free diet is the only treatment for coeliac disease.
