A rich and healthy breakfast

A delicious flavour, a great contribution of fibre and a wide versatility characterize this breakfast. And you, have you already tried it?

Many times we turn to typical cereals for breakfast because we don’t know other options. Our goal is for you to discover that there is life beyond conventional breakfasts and that, little by little, you can help yourself to improve your health.

Dare to try some of the breakfasts that we offer here. They require very little preparation time and their ingredients are healthier than processed foods.

Ingredients

  • 2 glasses of non-dairy milk
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 6 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons hemp protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Vanilla

Toppings

  • Fruit to taste
  • Cocoa nibs

Preparation

Tiempo necesario: 5 minutos.

Preparation takes only 5 minutes, but a minimum of 30 minutes (although better overnight) is necessary to allow the chia seeds to hydrate.

  1. Beat all the ingredients except for the toppings

It is important that this step be done, if possible, the night before!

  2. Let stand in a jar, jug, container… overnight in the fridge

If it cannot be done the night before, prepare at least half an hour in advance, as chia seeds require time to absorb the liquid and gel

  3. Just before eating, add the fruit to taste: pieces of strawberry, apple, pineapple, mango, blueberries… and the cocoa nibs

  4. Enjoy!

Properties of chia seeds

Some time ago, these seeds were considered a superfood and became fashionable. Some of us started taking them and some didn’t. However, both regulars of chia seeds and novices, we often ask ourselves: What benefits do these seeds have and why should I incorporate them into my diet?

To begin with, they contain minerals such as magnesium, manganese, copper, and zinc which benefit our bones and joints, in addition to a high amount of calcium easily assimilated by our body which is difficult to find in products of vegetable origin.

Relieves constipation problems because it is a source of fibre and does not contain gluten, so celiacs can eat them without a problem.

They contain iron, potassium, and proteins, that is why they contribute to increase these levels in athletes, vegetarians, and vegans, and they also have antioxidant properties.

What do chia seeds taste like?

These seeds have a practically neutral flavor, for this reason you can add them to both sweet and savory preparations without altering the original flavor. They give a perfect touch to your smoothies, cakes, biscuits… or to your salads, breads, etc.
